Has our society gotten to the point where we can't make a judgment for fear that someone will take offense? Elitism is good in certain circumstances, education and assessment of qualifications being two arenas where it is essential.

I can fault someone for being under-educated, even with a good faith effort at bettering themselves, if they are employed in a position that assumes and requires higher education than they actually possess at the current moment. Because that person is a fraud and a cheat - cheating their employer out of productivity they promised by taking the position.
